Fort Lauderdale, Florida is a great Oceanside location where you can see all kinds of things. Some of the tourist sights are best seen by taking a cruise on the Intercoastal Waterway, but to see all the sights and sounds of Fort Lauderdale car rental is the best way to get to all parts of the city.
Fort Lauderdale is a short distance from South Beach and Miami. Most tourists want to see everything in Southern Florida when they are visiting Fort Lauderdale, since everything is so conveniently located and many of the tourist destination towns seem to be connected. Of course, you can take Highway 1 and Highway A1A and tour the Florida coastline, which is why many people think renting a car is a necessity, once they have seen it by water.
Each of the beachside towns is unique and offer tropical restaurants on the ocean, plenty of beaches and plenty of shopping. If you rent a car, you can see many locations in a day, and most of them are located less than an hour north, south, and west of Fort Lauderdale or along with eastern coast of Florida.
Highway 1 goes up the Eastern coast of Florida and juts over to the ocean peninsulas up and down the Florida coastline. Anytime you see signs that direct you to Highway A1A, you know you are driving along the oceanfront areas, where all the fun and action is. With a Fort Lauderdale car rental, you can take in all of the sights in close proximity of town and all along the oceanfront.
You can drive from the eastern side of Florida on the Atlantic Ocean to the western Gulf side in a matter of hours. Both are very different oceans, but you don’t want to miss either one when you are visiting Florida.
Car rentals can be very affordable, especially in the off season months of late spring, summer and fall. Remember that Fort Lauderdale and Florida in general are considered great winter vacations and of course, early spring brings all of the “Spring-breakers” to the Florida hotspots, including Fort Lauderdale. Hotels and car rentals are the highest during peak season.
There are many fun things to do in short driving distances from Fort Lauderdale. Besides going on the waterfront tours of the millionaire’s homes, Port Everglades, downtown Fort Lauderdale and other tourist attractions can be seen by car. There are casinos, rollercoaster parks, safari parks and botanical gardens, flamingo, parrots and tropical garden exhibits, parks, and museums and all kinds of activities you can do while in Fort Lauderdale.
Renting a car is the cheapest mode of transportation and especially if you plan to venture outside of Fort Lauderdale and into Miami or other directions. Since you can get almost anywhere in Southern Florida in a short time, you can go to the Gulf of Mexico on the Western side of Florida and have a beachfront picnic or collect sea shells, if you get a Fort Lauderdale car rental. It’s an affordable way to take in the best sights in an easy commute around the Southern part of the Florida peninsula.
